Yes, I know, I shouldn't be admitting this but.....the wife has seriously gotten me into this show! The actors are pretty good, and it has a fun mix of drama and comedy. Anyone else watch this?

Yeah, I really don't either. I do like this show, however.

Weird, I jsut started watching it. I saw the first episode and nothing, besides Ian Somerhalder, interested me. It looked too much like Twilight, but the vamps ACTUALLY have fangs, and can't go into direct sunlight, so, I think it's etter. Plus, it was around before Twilight was.

I was looking for vampire stuff last Wednesday and saw that it comes on every thursday, s I watched it, apparently, right as it got good lol. It comes on again tonight, and I'll be watching it :]

You should go back to the beginning and watch each one. There's definitely been a huge progression. Damon's character is by far the most entertaining; Stefan, like Edward in Twilight, is just plain boring.

Yeah, he bores me. He's definently a little more light than Edward though. Edward is so serious all of the time. Too much intensity is stressing.

And I hate Damon, but I love to hate him, lol.

Yeah, especially in the last couple episodes, Stefan's lightened up a lot.

I don't know how anyone can truly hate Damon. He's freakin' awesome.

I hope to read the books at some point, but I hear, like the True Blood series, that they stray away a good deal.

well, the last episode ended with Stefan drinking human blood, and going on a sort of "binge" so that's definently a lot more exciting than Twilight. Edward drank Bella's blood and that was it. He was a little conflicted about it, buy Meyers never explanded on that, and I think that angle is always more exciting, makes the vamp seem less rigid. But then again it is pretty played out.

Yeah, I think for me, it's True Blood --> Vampire Diaries --> Twilight. My wife LOVES Twilight and had me read the books. I liked them, but I thought the movies were just terrible by comparison. I've also read the books that True Blood is based off of, and they're pretty good, though I prefer the TV series to the books in that case. I tried, in vain, to read the Vampire Diaries books, but couldn't get more than a chapter or two into it due to sheer boredom.

I adored the Sookie Stackhouse series :] The Twilight ones were so much better than the movies. Just the thing that bothers me about them is Edward is emotionally abusive, and the girls just swoon over it!!

Lol, yeah, that is true about Edward. I'm like "seriously? If I were to behave that way, no girl in her right mind would want me. But when he does it, they think it's the most adorable thing ever."

But anyway, the Vampire Diaries finale last night was SOOOOO GOOD! It was one twist after another after another. Lots of cliffhangers, too. And when "Elena" kissed Damon, my wife was like "DO IT DAMON!" (no, she normally doesn't condone cheating, but her and I both think Stefan is by far the worst, most boring character on the show and Damon's just a lot more entertaining) Surprising to find out that it wasn't really her, but someone who looks just like her. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the second season.

Oh, and less than a month til True Blood! Thank God for that, because it's going to be a long 4 months of waiting for season 2 of VD.
